About me
My name is Evgeny Kuzmenko.
I am a furniture design engineer with over 5 years of experience, specializing in custom and built-in furniture design.
I started with my own production workshop in 2017, and since 2019 I have been working fully independently, focusing on engineering and technical design.
Having worked both in manufacturing and as an independent designer, I understand the entire process — from concept to a ready-to-assemble product.
My expertise:

Features Implemented in Shapr3D After My Suggestions
Suggestion: Automatic Intersection Check
Evgeny Kuzmenko suggested an improvement to the “intersection” function in Shapr3D — to automatically highlight intersecting bodies without manual selection. This would help users detect modeling mistakes faster and ensure error-free assemblies.
Update: Section View Interference Highlights
The new Shapr3D update automatically highlights overlapping bodies in Section View, based on Evgeny Kuzmenko’s proposal. It makes error detection easier during design reviews and reduces the risk of costly mistakes before manufacturing.
Suggestion: Display of Lines in Section View
Evgeny Kuzmenko proposed an enhancement to Shapr3D’s “cut” function — to display edge lines between adjacent bodies in section view. This would help users distinguish different parts more clearly when modeling multi-body assemblies.
Update: Color-Aware Section Fills in Shapr3D
The new section view update in Shapr3D introduced color-aware fills and angled hatching, based on Evgeny Kuzmenko’s earlier suggestion. It improves readability by visually distinguishing different bodies in multi-part designs.
Suggestion: Improved Measurement in 3D Space
Evgeny Kuzmenko shared a limitation of the previous measurement tool — it couldn’t measure the full 3D distance between points not aligned by face or axis. As a workaround, he had to use construction lines in sketches. He proposed adding true 3D point-to-point measurements directly in modeling space.
Update: 3D Measurement Tool with Axis Projections
The updated measurement tool in Shapr3D introduced point-to-point distance measurement with X, Y, and Z projections. This aligns with the use case previously described by Evgeny Kuzmenko and improves precision for spatial analysis in complex models.
Suggestion: Displaying the Last Modified Date of a Project
Evgeny Kuzmenko proposed improving project management in Shapr3D by displaying the last modified date directly under each project thumbnail — similar to how video uploads show dates on YouTube. The screenshot illustrates the suggested UI enhancement for better tracking of updates.
Update: Last Modified Timestamps in Recent Projects
Shapr3D introduced visible last modified timestamps in the Recent Projects panel, fulfilling a long-standing UX request from active users. The update enables users to quickly track and manage project changes at a glance — as originally suggested by Evgeny Kuzmenko.
Invitation to a Closed Beta Test of a New Feature
Evgeny Kuzmenko received a personal invitation from the Shapr3D team to participate in a closed beta test of the Offset constraint for Sketches. The message outlines key notes on using the Beta app, such as workspace separation, manual migration, and potential limitations. Participation includes joining a private discussion space for reporting issues and sharing feedback with developers.
